The Parity Database Logo

I designed a new logo for Parity Productions’ The Parity Database. Parity Productions is a New York City-based theatre non-profit theatre company, empowering women, trans, and gender-expansive artists. The Parity Database is an online tool creating visibility for women, trans, and gender-expansive playwrights, directors, and designers working in professional theatre in New York City.
As the company has changed its mission throughout the years, so did the name of the Database. While the main goal of the database stayed the same, its name change in 2021 was done to feel more synonymous with the company.
As company standard, the basic idea of the logo was unchanged. After the database’s name change in 2019 to “The Women and TGNC Artists Database,” I re-designed the logo, where I also edited the colors to fit ADA compliance rules. The company’s ultimate goal of the database was always to be a much bigger platform than it originally had been, so when the move to restructure the database began to finalize, another new logo was designed.
